Colleen Fitzpatrick, MD, MPA is a pediatric surgeon at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York and has an interest in the health impacts of climate change and environmental policy. She obtained her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami and most recently her MPA with a concentration in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
She completed her general surgery training on active duty with the US Air Force in San Antonio, TX and her pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI. She achieved the rank of Lt Colonel before completing her military commitment in 2016. Prior to joining the team at CCMC in 2020, she was at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO where she served as the Fellowship Director, Trauma Medical Director, Division Chief, and held the J. Eugene Lewis Chair as Surgeon-in-Chief.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is currently serving as the MDCS for the ACS CSV verification efforts at Cohen’s. She is also actively engaged in sustainability work, currently to incorporate climate change into the curricula of both Northwell Health Graduate Medical Education and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. She is involved with sustainability efforts at CCMC and with the Northwell Health System Sustainability Team.
