Donna A. Caniano, MD, FACS, FAAP joined the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as a field representative in November 2010. She is Professor of Surgery emeritus at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Surgeon-in-Chief emeritus at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Caniano served as chairperson of the Section on Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics, secretary of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, and on the Pediatric Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery. In 2014 the Section on Surgery of the AAP honored her with the Arnold M. Salzberg Award for Mentorship.
Dr. Caniano provides mentorship to residents, fellows, and faculty in pediatric surgery and general surgery, and conitnues to contribute to the literature in graduate medical education.
