Dr. Blakely is a pediatric surgeon who has focused on multicenter randomized comparative effectiveness trials, especially related to neonatal surgical conditions. He was the principal investigator for the HIP Trial (Hernia in Premies) that is the focus of this session. In addition to designing clinical trials and federal grants to support them, he is now interested in implementation of trial findings into practice and has recently joined the Institute for Implementation Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
