Helen Hsieh is a Canadian trained (General Surgery-McGill University, Pediatric Surgery – Ste Justine University Hospital) surgeon-scientist who was educated and currently works at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York, USA as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. Her experiences in both systems have contributed to her advocacy work with APSA, AAP and CAPS and have directed her research on disparities and socioeconomic barriers to pediatric surgical and trauma care.
