Ryan M. Antiel, MD is Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine and a core faculty member at the Trent Center for Bioethics where he directs the Clinical Ethics Fellowship. Dr. Antiel also directs the Character, Formation, and Flourishing in Medicine research lab. Dr. Antiel earned his medical degree from Mayo Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic and pediatric surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania where he also obtained a Master of Science in Medical Ethics. In 2024 he was awarded the prestigious Greenwall Faculty Scholars Award. He has published over 70 peer reviewed articles and book chapters.
