Sarah Sapienza, MD is the Pediatric Trauma Program Medical Director at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. She is also the Medical Director of the Chest Wall Program. Dr. Sapienza trained in general surgery at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and then went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. This year, she received the Resident Education Award from the General Surgery residents at Lehigh Valley Hospital which now sits next to her Resident Voted Faculty of the Year Award received in 2018 from the residents of University of South Dakota Sanford Surgery Residents. Dr. Sapienza is currently working on several projects, including a new skull fracture pathway to facilitate patient discharge from the ER, lecturing about gun safety locally and at national meetings and surviving Tabata rides on the Peloton.
