Dr. Raquel González is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She trained in general surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. She completed a surgical critical care fellowship at University of Michigan Health Systems & CS Mott Children’s Hospital and a pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. After completing her surgical training, she completed a Master’s in Health Care Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is passionate about quality improvement initiatives locally and nationally. She is core faculty of the Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, Chair of the American Pediatric Surgical Association Quality and Safety Committee and Executive Board member of the Pediatric Surgery Quality Collaborative. She has developed a recent interest in using AI as a tool to improve surgeon clinical and academic workflow. She resides in Saint Petersburg with her husband and two daughters.
