Shunpei Okochi, MD, is a board-certified pediatric surgeon at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. He is the Surgical Director of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and the Surgical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Dr. Okochi received his medical degree and completed his surgical internship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. In 2017, he completed his pediatric ECMO fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and in 2020, he completed his general surgery residency also at Columbia University Medical Center. In 2022, he completed his fellowship in pediatric surgery at Rady Children’s Hospital at the University of California San Diego, and in 2023, he completed his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
