Monica Milovancev was born and raised in Iowa and started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant on an Inpatient Rehab floor. She then worked as a Registered Staff Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron going on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner.
Monica is a dual board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Acute and Primary Care and has served as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt for over eleven years. She currently serves as the Lead Advanced Practice Provider for the Pediatric Surgery and Trauma and Pediatric Burn Advanced Practice Practitioner teams and is on the Faculty of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She enjoys working with colleagues to develop clinical pathways and order-sets to find ways to improve efficiency and quality of care. She has previously served as the co-chair of the Advanced Practice Professional Development / Clinical Practice Grand Rounds committee and has participated in the Leadership Excellence in Advanced Practice (LEAP) program at Vanderbilt.
Monica is not only passionate about caring for pediatric patients and their families, she also loves spending time with her husband and three children. They enjoy playing games, playing outside, soccer, baking/decorating, reading, drawing, painting, creating/building and just spending time together.
