Jaclyn Dempsey, MD, MS is a general surgery resident at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She is an aspiring pediatric surgeon and is currently a postdoctoral T32 research fellow studying various topics in pediatric surgery, with a special interest in outcomes disparities and pediatric firearm trauma. She is additionally working on a Master of Public Health with a concentration in epidemiology during her research years, which she hopes will supplement her research work to better target interventions to prevent pediatric trauma, obesity, and other widely prevalent issues to improve the health of all children.
