Deanna Garza is a Certified Wound and Ostomy nurse at Stanford Medicine Children’s Hospital (SMCH). She received her wound and ostomy care training at Emory University in 2014 and obtained a doctorate degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in August 2020. Deanna joined SMCH as a clinical nurse with pediatric surgery in April 2018 and the acute care WOCN team in November 2022. Her previous roles were in management at the Sutter Delta Advanced Wound Care Center, Stanford Advanced Wound Care Center, Urology, and Plastic Surgery clinics. She has also held a number of roles in clinical research for a variety of biopharmaceutical companies within the San Francisco Bay Area. Deanna recently completed a research fellowship at SMCH focusing her research on Gtube education for patients, parents and caregivers. She has a strong interest in wound and ostomy care, clinical research and program development.
